Oxymoron

The expression United States of America seems to have an oxymoronic quality during the Covid-19 outbreak, with some states defying and/or rebelling against lockdown.

To a certain extent (albeit not exclusively) this seems to be sparked by a Church v State situation.

Are we seeing the first signs of a Second American Civil War?

They call themselves the Land of the Free. But they seem to have been indoctrinated by the Church, it has too much power.

The sports guy who didn't stand for their National Anthem showed that they are not allowed to have views of their own.

Oxymoron? I think that the moron in charge is destroying their country on his own.

I have two American “friends” on Facebook. One Republican, Trump fanatic and one Democrat, anti Trump.

Reading their individual posts they both seem to detest each other with such vehemence , it’s incredible.

I listened to the speech given by the Governor of New York today, hope he makes a run for pres. in a few years.
The Gov. of Connecticut is a woman who is clueless and heartless, expressed an opinion on food aid. (no-one deserves food aid, let 'em starve attitude)
Don't think we are seeing the first signs of a second, it would have to spread to more states, isn't the sabre rattling coming from Pennsylvania and Kentucky at the moment?

Gun sales are surging over there so they are all tooled up for a war if it happens.

I`ve never understood why all the different states have their own laws its just a recipe for disaster especially in times like these. medical staff shouldnt have to stand in the street to stop rednecks driving around.

There are a lot of hard core 2nd amendment fanatics mouthing off about 'boogaloo' (code for armed insurrection) as some states are using the emergency powers in place at the moment to push through anti-gun legislation.
I doubt this current situation will end without some sort of civil unrest, whether that will be a full blown civil war or not I don't know.

Ronald Chump makes out that "we" are winning the war, while new infections are running at 30,000 daily. Meanwhile his redneck core support want the status quo a.s.a.p.
Everyone wants a solution and, in election year he will cut all the corners to get a vaccine or at least a perceived cure in the form of treatment, so that the U S of A saves the world. Isn't that how he thinks?
