SO SAD. ....... After reading that Facebook is saying that posting the Lord’s Prayer goes against their policies, I’m asking all Christians please post the Lord’s Prayer:

Our father which art in Heaven
Hallowed be thy name
Thy Kingdom come, Thy will be done on earth
As it is in Heaven
Give us this day our daily bread
And forgive us our debts as we forgive our debtors
And lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil
For Thine is the kingdom, the power and the glory forever
Amen

Well, I'm not a Christian, but even I think that is OTT. Good luck x
//Facebook is saying that posting the Lord’s Prayer goes against their policies//

Why? What are their policies?
Well done, Wolf. That did seem a bit odd - which is why I questioned their policies.
Facebook stories, as well as Facebook itself, should perhaps be avoided?

OK, I fell for a hoax! That aside, I still feel fine about posting the Lord's Prayer.
//And forgive us our debts as we forgive our debtors//

That line has changed. I was taught “Forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us.” That doesn’t say the same thing at all. Is it all about money now?
I would, even though I'm an atheist, but I'm not on twitface.
I assume they have also banned the Surah Al Fatiha.
So was I.
TTT, it's a hoax.
yes, I see from above, I didn't check and believed maggie. With these posts I usually post first so I am not tainted with other's views so I did not read the fact it was a hoax. TBH though, I wouldn't put it past them!
you can say it is an old article you found in a book innit?
ah Naomi knew I was gonna do this

καὶ ἄφες ἡμῖν τὰ ὀφειλήματα ἡμῶν,
ὡς καὶ ἡμεῖς ἀφίεμεν τοῖς ὀφειλέταις ἡμῶν·

is the relevant piece - ὀφειλήματa ----- ὀφειλw is in my dictionary ( you know the one I copied out during lock down) - as "owe, debt"

Now, my dears - there are some who believe that he KJV ( King James version ) was written 'inerrant' - divine inspiration working in 1605
and others ( me) who believe there are bits they didnt understand ( the use of the perfect in NT Greek for one) and were correctable.
TTT " With these posts I usually post first so I am not tainted with other's views so I did not read the fact it was a hoax."

rofl at this one!
and this is a correction
woof why is that funny?
obviously woof you need to be given your your opinion by others. In cases like this I prefer to formulate my own before reading what others think.

Naomi et al - I'm Presbyterian - Church of Scotland and that's what we say - always have and always will.
"trespass" has become almost entirely linked to real estate these days and is no longer what James I might have understood by it (Scot though he was). "Debt" is closer - it doesn't mean only money.
Okay. It just sounds strange to me. I've been worrying about my trespasses for all these years. :o)
