Peter Pedant - I'm sure you must have met evangelists, who are ready to tell you what they believe, and why they believe it.
The murky waters of higher criticism, and the ready preparedness to dismiss the gospels, is a shame, simply because, after all, miracles don't happen, do they?
Of course they don't!
We can't believe can we, when we have science to rely on?
Yet, our very existence in this universe from nothing is a miracle.
Life from inert chemicals is a miracle.
Evolution is so full of holes and problems, that it most certainly is not a miracle.
And last, but not least, our consciousness, totally inexplicable, in spite of our progress in science and artificial intelligence, remains probably the biggest and most challenging mystery.
But, of course, we don't believe in miracles. Do we?
