Theland - you've been told enough times that atheism is the absence of a faith, and an absence is not provable.

That's something it shares with people of faith - the difference is, atheists are quite happy with their position, they don't feel the endless burning need to convince anyone.

That's why you keep banging on day in and day out, and with a few exceptions, atheists simply leave you to it - they have far better things to do with their time.
Convince you of the truth of atheism?

You are asking the impossible.
Pointless. You don't listen to anything you don't want to hear.
Only you have that control Theland.
Theland, I believe there is no God, can I prove it? no.
You believe there is a God, can you prove it? no.
You're half way to being an atheist already.
A funny thing happened on the way to the forum.

An avowed Christian asked for the living Christ to be kicked out of him.
No point. Your mind is made up and will never be changed.

The other point is that unlike believers, atheists and agnostics have no interest in converting others to their beliefs (Well, most haven't at least). Doing so is like peeing in the wind.

I see.
Atheists seem to have a strong faith in the absence of any objective truth, but assume a grounding for the creation of the universe, a biogenesis, and evolution.
Its like walking into a mental hospital and asking the disturbed patients to try and explain Ohms law.
Being met with incredulous stares.
Maybe we just choose not to believe the words written in an ancient book are the absolute truth. We have more sense than that.
"...asking the disturbed patients to try and explain Ohms law.
Being met with incredulous stares."

Or at best, resistance.

There is not God?
Then explain or answer the big questions.

But, God is not passive, and atheists through their stubbornness cannot experience His presence.
Then they say such experience is nonsense.
It is not I assure you.
"You don't listen to anything you don't want to hear"

Yet he starts thread after interminable thread asking exactly the same question! I truly wonder what he can possibly get out of it...
Perhaps he meant to say 'Make me a masochist'?
Theland - you state 'Atheists seem to have a strong faith ...'

And you know that atheists, by definition, have no faith.

You've been told that on here dozens of times, I know, I am one of the people telling you!

That means either that Naomi is correct, you don't listen to what you don't want to hear, or you genuinely don't know what an atheist is.

My money is on the former, based on long experience of you being all transmit and no receive, like all fervents.
Theland, no one cares what you believe. Believe as you will. Just don't impose it on anyone else.
Absolutely pointless. I suspect Theland has been overcelebrating the arriva of his great grandaughter and the alcohol has made him somewhat more confrontation than usual.

Enjoy the battle people, I'm gone.
Stubbornness seems to be the latest word to describe atheists, but in all honesty Theland it applies to Theists much more. We say we don't know because there's no proof, you say you do know but cannot produce proof. Who's the stubborn one?

I imagine that if I was a convinced atheist, the last place I would be posting would be Religion and Spirituality.
Why would I want to get into such a discussion?
I would rather have chit chat on Chatterbank, or discuss the news.
Why then would I get involved here, unless, unless, in some small corner of my psyche there was a nagging doubt about God, salvation, my eternal future?
Would I be looking for reassurance that the grave was the end? And take comfort in that?
No! As a committed atheist I would be anywhere but here!
