I was expecting more of a reaction to what was intended to be a jokey question. The truth is that man created god in his own image : I mean the believers wouldn't want god to look like ET would they !. As a lifelong atheist, I believe in reason, logic and explanations which form the basis of science.

No you have it the wrong way round, humans make gods in their image, from their dreams and nightmares, allowing them traits such as anger, love,pleasure , because humans know they are important. We want them o be bigger and better versions of what we value, but they end up spiteful vindictive and cruel because that is what we see all around us.
