With regards to gullibility religious people are more susceptible to scams and frauds that are 'religious' in nature which makes sense, however it would be interesting to know if they are generally more credulous across the board.

I don't think people are fooled. Some decide they want to believe it. That's all.
As does the current government
I think religions foster fears of 'what happens next' when a person dies so many will be sucked into a religion because they think that they will have a better eternal life .... It is what keeps people down in poverty and working in dangerous and thankless jobs because it will all be ok when they die in many areas of the world. Being damned for all eternity is very frightening for those who are vulnerable.
no, the internet does that
That is a sweeping statement that can be applied to many situations, and true in all of them.

This is just one example.
Some people choose to believe. My mother had a deep and unwavering faith which got her through tough times. It harmed no one and gave her peace
And many are told to believe it!
You use the word, ''religion,'' without specifying exactly what you mean.
It is a very broad term.
Theland, you know what he means. You're worming again.
With Naomi's reprimand in mind I shall answer.
Yes it does prove it.
What say you?
No.
^^ I'm not being fooled.
Theland, you've asked a few times recently, so
//religion
/rɪˈlɪdʒ(ə)n/

noun
the belief in and worship of a superhuman controlling power, especially a personal God or gods.
"ideas about the relationship between science and religion"//

If you believe in a God, you are religious.
If you lived in Britain 300 years ago you would happily and reasonably believe that all swans were white. Yet at the same time those living in Western Australia were seeing black swans.
Some of us are experiencing a living relationship with God through Jesus, others are just asserting that all swans are white

Yes, but I take it to mean following prescribed made rituals, as in the established churches.
I don't follow any of them.
I class myself as nothing more or less than Christian.
fiveleaves; a few hundred years ago it was obvious that all swans were white (unless you lived in Australia). If a white swan had been of religious symbolic importance, then any explorer intrepid enough to return with his tale of a black swan might well have been burned as a heretic by the local religious ons - not burned as affronting the existing science of the day.
There's a difference between science and religion. Religion can fool some people into believing wrong things to such an extent that they would kill before they would accept.
