My experiences on R&S are that atheists hunt in packs and love nothing more than to tear into a big fat Christian.
Oftentimes, this is accompanied by an almost world weary sighing impatience as if to say, ''Oh no, not another upstart! Right! Load the guns! Let's give out both barrels!''
Being told that I foist my views on the tired old atheists yet again, is just one of many typical comments.
Then there is the resident atheist ex fundie fervent, with his list of gods, his talking snake routine, and of course, the superior outlook that looks down on Christians as if we were something stuck to a shoe.
So, when it comes to kicking Christians, don't you just love it?
They make it so easy....
But seriously. Not really, it's a little depressing to see otherwise intelligent people, behaving in such irrational ways. You aren't the victim here, theland. You voluntarily start threads, which you abandon. And all debates on here are consenting. Nobody has to join in, if they don't want to.
Nope. You just enjoy seeing yourself as a victim because of your faith. I've never had any issue with people having faith, any faith, as it doesn't concern me when they keep it private. You and various others on ab, enjoy overstepping that and moving into evangelicalism. Trying to sell your beliefs to those who are not willing recipients.
It doesn't have to be Christians, or even religion. On any subject, irrational and illogical comments are hard to ignore. When people confuse feelings or opinions with facts, it's a problem.
Always thought it was interesting that Christians define their convictions as believing in something while atheists seem to believe in nothing. Worse, atheists define their view as not believing in God(s). So they believe that they don't believe in something they don't believe in...
Well done, paigntonian... I don't believe in unicorns either. I wouldn't even know that, if somebody else hadn't come up with the concept first. They wouldn't have crossed my mind.
Just to be clear, I never consider myself a victim.
If I refute an accusation, that may be interpreted as such, but no, never, just in it for discussion and debate.
What does pee me off is the world weary sighing and hand wringing at me having the cheek to dare submit my views, which may go against the unbelieving mainstream.
I would never scurrilously attack atheists as I have no ambition to damage their reputations.
They can manage their own damages without any help from me.
