People on here seem to enjoy feeding this person's delusions by trying to find evidence with which to debunk them. Delusions can never be debunked because they are the creation of the disturbed mind, which changes and shapes the delusions to fit any eventuality.

The bible is simply the medium through which these delusions can be given some kind of credence in the mind of their creator. This medium could be any book - one of Jon Ronson's - The Psychopath test would be a good one - or some kind of fantasist tome like Isaac Asimov's work or that of Arthur C. Clarke.

Any of these would be a basis for belief in delusion. The bible is just another of these, and this post is the result.

The object isn't necessarily to save those who may already be beyond redemption but rather to minimise the spread to those who haven't been inoculated against the latest manifestation of delusion.

Theland, I don't believe there is a god. What more can I say? I don't post about it a lot, I just occasionally respond to posts from others. Unfortunately, most of those who disagree with my view don't really seek to convince me that I am wrong by arguing rationally, they simply reiterate their belief. There's nothing really there to get your teeth into. I admit that I don't try to prove by logic that my belief is sound, but I do aften ask for clarification so that I can understand where the believers are coming from, and not often is there anything forthcoming (apart from a few exceptions).

Theland, nobody can answer the big questions. And I don't want to find a different book or dogma to replace the bible. I have a view based on my life experience and my reading. But I have not decided that one particular book answers all of life's questions. Can't you relax in the 'knowledge' that you will soon have the answers, without needing to get approval from a bunch of AB argumentatons?

Theland, in common with many, many others, I can't answer the 'big questions'. You seem to find it impossible to accept that YOU can't either, and just give us endless permutations of the 'the Bible says..' and 'God is...'. You have - never - provided any credible proof for the assertions that you make. Saying 'it's all there' and 'read the Bible properly' does nothing to strengthen your points (such as they are).

How, other than miraculous, can you describe a book that contains forecasts that come true in the future long after they were written?

Theland, we both know that your assertions, in your last post, are your opinion only. Presenting things as facts doesn't make them so. 'Miraculous' is your interpretation, but that is all it is.

Theland; it could be coincidence. Could be that you are letting your wishes influence your judgment. Both of these options are more likely that genuine prediction of the future, which appears not to occur anywhere else other than in your chosen book.

Theland, 'forecasts' is not a good word to use. Weather forecasts are not prophecies or predictions, they are intelligent guesses based on available information and a scientific method of modelling future consequences.
