In short I think he's saying we all need to be less nationalistic and more welcoming. Coming from someone who lives In just about the most exclusive area in the world and one that actively keeps the unselected out, it made me laugh. Just thought I'd share.

Hypocrite. It's about maths and economics more than anything. For the UK at least, how many people does he think it will support? Has he said?
Oh shut up Pope, speaking from your lofty perch !! How many are you prepared to put up in your palatial home - none probably !
Pope can go suck a lemon!
Total hypocrisy from the Pope. When he sells all the billions of pounds worth of art and opens the doors of the Vatican to house the thousands of migrants it could comfortably hold, maybe his words would carry an atom of authority.
I don't know if any migrants are housed in the Vatican at the moment if any, but there have been in the past - and help has been given through charities too.

Won't be enough of course, nothing ever is but it's something.

Pope can do one as far as I am concerned.

If he is so worried then open up the Vatican and let them in there. Catholic Church has enough money.

Mamyalynne, they weren’t housed in the Vatican.
He should be focusing on why these people are leaving their homes and addressing the leaders of those countries.
No, the Vatican City - but as I said it will never be enough whatever each organisation does.
Think Prince William should have a few in the grounds of Kensington Palace also.
Question Author
Nor the Vatican City, mamyalynne. Some were housed in Vatican owned properties, that’s all . No one who isn’t connected to the church lives in Vatican City.
OK, I am wrong.

I'll leave you to your laugh.
Question Author
No need to get touchy, mamyalynne. You are wrong and his ‘pontificating’ is hypocritical.
plenty of churches cathedrals he could have renovated for migrants to live in, could even afford to build houses if he wanted to, how mauch land does the church own...
Gulliver //Think Prince William should have a few in the grounds of Kensington Palace also.//

How many have you taken in ?
