Show me who Jehovah's wittnesses were before Charles Taze Russell.
What group/association/church/ etc held the same ideals or theology?
Go back as far as you want...
Can you name any first or second century church father who believed that Jesus was the arch-angel Michael for example?

The French have a saying, " A leedle knowledge can be keeked to death in ze guise of weezdom, zut alors".
well there isnt
BUT does that mean that theology stops Jan 1st 201 ? boop boop!

The Revd Dr Anthony Phillips ( author God BC) commented that by 500AD, they had done all the possible heresies, and the next 1500y was just more of the same

[This is not too much for the average Aber on a hot day, is it?]
Nailit - it's far too hot to waste time and energy on such a pointless endeavour.

//Nailit - it's far too hot to waste time and energy on such a pointless endeavour. //

I know, I know,,,
But actually having been a brainwashed evangelical (Not JW)
in my teenage years - early 20's Im always eager to help people not waste time in religion any longer than need be.
That been said, it can be difficult.
With goodlife in particular, you are never going to win.
I think it may have been mentioned in either the 2nd or the 4th century - I can’t remember exactly when or by whom. I’ll rummage through the archives and try to check it out tomorrow.

Meanwhile, over to you, Goodlife.

//With goodlife in particular, you are never going to win//
Youre probably right. But it isnt about winning anyway.
Its about questioning and whether you dare to question anyway.
I dared to question....
Question Author
I was into my late teenage years (18-19) when I began to question what I was been told
(I had become a die-hard evangelical Jesus freak by 15)
Having probably already read the Bible more times than my Pastor and
already in the habit of reading at least a half dozen books a week on religion, christianity, theology, etc I began to question.

Then realised that there is no difference between YOUR belief and theology and mine.
They were both flawed and both false.

Life isnt pretty.
Mine hasnt been straight forward.
But Ive faced my demons head on...no jesus needed.

No God either!
whilst Naomi rummages ( smiley smiley, fawn)
Michael and jesus not new ( AB speak for Michael occurs quite alot in the OT)

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Michael_(archangel)

Thank God for Google. Which crazy says goggle is a thing of the devil? Anyway Michael on a horsey protecting children is an image 500y prior to St George. But place of Michael in the OT - even I lack enthusiasm for that ( smiley etc)
Question Author
Peter....
are you on a high?

And posting a wiki link proves nothing.
I could post a Loch Ness Monster link
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Loch_Ness_Monster
He doesn’t know what you’re talking about, nailit.
neither does the Loch Ness Monster, when it comes to being Jehovah or some strange faction of Christianity, he or she is a bit of a dinosaur.
Question Author
//Anyway Michael on a horsey protecting children//
Nowhere is 'Michael on a horsey protecting children'
Ever mentioned.
Where the hell have you got that from you dipstick?

Have you ever read the Bible????????
Question Author

I have a Catholic friend who insists that Jesus, as a child, was the only kid who could slide down a rainbow. Yes... really. :o)
I don’t think I need any challenge on this subject. I think the problem is. Thou doth Protest Too much

The only reason. I come on here is so that I am not blood guilty. As in the case with the apostle Paul’s words.at Acts 20:26-27. And that’s all I’m going to say on the matter Bye.
Strange, isn't it. Goodlife is prolific in his preaching but so reluctant to explain how his religion works. I wonder why? Perhaps he doesn't know.
