On how many Religionists have actually read their religious texts, verses, those of us atheists/agnostics who HAVE read them?
(All the way through that is, not just the bits that they are told to read)

That would be interesting. My father was an atheist and had read the Bible several times.
You could ask the Ed to post a poll, nailit. I don't know if she would, but she might.
I've read enough of the Bible during school days to make my mind up and even at a very young age I knew what I thought. I have never changed my mind.
Cover to cover !
I'm an atheist and i have a CSE in RI. Couldn't get that without reading the bible a few times. Actually, purely as a work of fiction (of course) it's quite a good read in places.
As a non-believer why do you keep banging on about religion. Something missing in your life?
A lot of the followers of Islam not only read their sacred texts but memorise them.
A lot get it beaten into them.
The Old Testament has numerous verifiable historical references to known and accepted occurrences.
I have read the Bible completely. Perused The Book of Mormon, desultory scanned The Koran. Tibetan Book Of the Dead. Various Spiritual books, several Occult works, Wicca, paganism etc. Catharism,
Buddhism, mixed theological tomes. Conclusion? I know that I don’t know.
as believers, why do people keep banging on about their religion to other people who are not interested though paigntonian?
You really love to bang on about this issue, Nailit. As a Christian I have read the entire Bible (NKJ version to be precise)
Not that unusual for practising Christians to do this. I know some Christians who read the Bible in a year. There was a reknowned Russian beliver who read the New Testament in its entirity every week, for a long period of his life.
Cant speak for other faiths although it is known that there are some Muslims who are able to recite the entire Quran
this is possibly the least interesting survey I have ever seen proposed. Does anyone, anywhere, care whether a believer has read all the Mahayana sutras or 1 Esdras?
