No one needs any hate specific laws. The whole concept is ridiculous. We don't have thought police, so everyone is free to hate if they so wish. Meanwhile it is actions that need to be legislated for, or against. And the victim of some action should not be treated better or worse than another victim, neither should their assailant, simply because of why someone...

Why has untitled gone quiet?

probably getting a new April sewn in place.

Ellipsis; //It's very clear that many people equate Islam, the Koran, Islamist, Muslims, and Hamas as one homogeneous lump, rather than the curate's egg that it is.//

The noteworthy thing about the 'curate's egg' is that, though it contains several disparate items, they are all contained within its confines. There are many more & in my opinion, better & more democratic eggs.

Islamism is fascism; nothing more & nothing less.

I'd be interesting how untitled would categorise these two charmers.

The curate's egg is an excellent analogy.  He knows it's bad - he really does - but he won't say so.

> Islamism is fascism; nothing more & nothing less.

What a non sequitur. It seems to show that you think Islamism is the whole egg.

> The curate's egg is an excellent analogy. He knows it's bad ...

The point of the curate's egg is that it's bad in places.

Ellipsis, I know what it is.

In that 10 year old book review of a 100 year old situation, it says ...

Moreover, the German inability to see beyond a single, unitary “Muslim world”

You're making the same mistake now as the Nazis did then, Khandro ... thinking that the curate's egg is homogeneous.

I don;t see how the Curate's egg is in any way aposite here:

//"A "curate's egg" is something described as partly bad and partly good. In its original usage, it referred to something that is obviously and entirely bad, but is described out of politeness as nonetheless having good features that redeem it//

There are no redeeming features in Islam, are there? Has anyone heard of anything "good" or even slightly positive?

apposite!

They were my thoughts, TTT.  You posted them before I could.

Ellipsis> It's very clear that many people equate Islam, the Koran, Islamist, Muslims, and Hamas as one homogeneous lump, rather than the curate's egg that it is.

Naomi> The curate's egg is an excellent analogy.

TTT> I don;t see how the Curate's egg is in any way apposite here ... There are no redeeming features in Islam, are there?

Logic error.

Not at all, Ellipsis.  The point is the curate wouldn't speak out - and that's exactly what's happening with Islam.

LOL, OK, we're done ...

lol?

Still no answer from untitled
