Every time the Falklands comes up all the lefties make snide comments about "war for penguins"; "tiny islands" " thousands of miles away"  etc etc so presumably they think we should just have ignored the invasion. Is it just because it was TGL doing it or do they really think they were not worth defending. What if it was a Labour government doing it? Come on canary I challenge you to explain your position.

Your trousers must be wet through, with all this issing in the wind

🥱😂

What no links TTT?? – someone will be along shortly to complain.

I can’t recall Canary ever posting on this site that the UK should have ignored the invasion of the Falklands.

A quick search reveals that Canary did respond to a question from Gromit (back in 2012) asking //Would you accept cuts to the NHS to protect the Falklands?// to which Canary simply responded ‘No’ – which is not the same as saying that we should ignore the invasion of the Falklands.

So either put up or shut up.

I'll put up then (agree it's not helpful if you didn't see the thread that sparked this off) but last night Canary posted:

"/// Women aren't as territorial as men///

It was a woman who sent many of our boys to die over a tiny island the other side of the world."

on this thread:

he wrote:

"It was a woman who sent many of our boys to die over a tiny island the other side of the world." - so I assume he did not agree with liberating the Falklands.

In the context of the question and Canary’s response – Canary was only pointing out that Thatcher (as a woman) was more than happy to be engaged in war.

One should never "assume" ... 3T

Prudish, it was 237sj, not Canary.

so he just preferred it to be a man that was PM at the time? Right oh! I think we'd better let canary answer for himself.

Lefties hate this question which is why you won;t get one on this thread. They hate the idea of defence but they don't have the guts to say so or explain the obvious. I can guarantee there will not be a single thread saying that we should not have liberated the falklands and explaing why but they all think it.

Based on Canary’s post – Canary may be of the view that it was well worthwhile that Thatcher sent many of our boys to die over a tiny island the other side of the world – just pointing out that it was a woman who did so (as was relevant to the original question); leaving the reader to decide whether they think it was a worthwhile endeavour.

Well, of course she was right to defend British territory. It's no use asking the clowns on AB, ask the Falkland Islanders.

Digging up old "news" again TTT?  You must be really bored today. Can your wife not find some jobs for you to do around the house for a couple of hours?

It was Canary, alba.

Digging up old "news" again TTT?

Yesterday is old news?

Good old BWM she's on the ball as usual..fffreeedddoooommm!

Give it up, Hymie.

Canary would have said 'sent soldiers to liberate the Falklands' not 'sent soldiers to die' if it wasn't meant as a barbed comment.

Albaquerty - it was Canary who said "It was a woman who sent many of our boys to die over a tiny island the other side of the world."

Not 237sj

That is the contentious line

Why don't people read the whole thread if they want to comment on it, that's the 2nd time this morning it's been misconstrued..

Necessity is the mother of invention.

Answerbank needs traffic and shadowmod invents a story.

Clone, thank you. My apologies to Prudie and 237sj, am away to give my specs a good clean.
