ABers Thought for The Day 100 - Team Effort.

Let's do a thought for the day, one to three lines per post, each coherent with the post before. Then dump it after 100 posts.
We could find it pulling in two directions.

Whoever is up first can start it off.

I could start, (in a suitable sombre voice of course), with words such as ........

* In todays hectic world, many people think ....
* It has long been thought that the churches ....
* Holy men have always told us .....
* A friend said to me the other day .....

So go on then, whoever is up first can start the ball rolling. As many posts each as you like, so long as you don't post consecutively.

err...become a very lonley person (as in life). So Mani began to to look for life on other planets and found that exterrestial life consisted very much the same...

there as it does here with all the same varieties of religious belief. This of course presented a problem because whilst Mani had been alone and feeling pretty saintly on earth, up there ............

people were enjoying life (with all its shortcomings). At least on this planet the religious types understood that they werent perfect and their religious values werent written in stone but were open to interpretation, so they were much happier to accomodate each others beliefs-even those with no belief.
Meanwhile, saintly Mani (all on his own) began too...

Back to the story......
began to hear strange voices telling him......

look beeeehind you....... to which Mani turned his head only to find......

Theland BRINGING up the rear. 'Mani', old chap, he said. What ....................

"I am a saint and a prophet" replied Mani in his most profound and self righteous voice.
Mani went on to explain to Theland how he, and he alone, was the only righteous person still alive and how he would one day be sitting at the right hand of God the father, where he would help the Almighty in the task of judging all who had ever lived (exept naomi who, would be dealt with solely
by God as her adulterous sin was so great that not even the great prophet Mani...peace be upon him...could intervene in the appropriate punishment).
Further more, Mani berated Theland for having cyber space discussions with the great apostate, Wizard69. and he was warned of the consequences of toying with the wizards wand.It was at this point that naomi...

interjected that wizard's wand was of great value when one was coming up the behind. After all...

there were few who were indeed blessed to possess such a miraculous implement, whereupon the wrath of Mani was unleashed upon her. At that instant with an almighty flash and wand in hand, the Great Wizard himself appeared, saying .........

" Izzy Wizzy- Let's Get Bizzy" and turned Mani into a........

compassionate, rational, thinking human being.Wizard fingered his magic wand for a moment or two, enjoying the miraculous powers that it possesed and remembering how much pleasure it had given people over the years. For a moment he wondered if naomi would like to hold his wand and have a play with it. He was sure that she would take good care of it, after all it wasnt a flimsy wand like other wizards possesed, this was a good solid wand that got more potent the more it was played with. To be fair, it could be quiet frightening to an inexperianced hand as it was bigger than the average wand but wizard was sure that naomi had handled plenty of wands in her hands over the years. Wizard suddenly remembered that he had some spare wands at home. It was while he was contemplating giving naomi one that...

another thought occurred to him. Now that Mani and Theland had finally seen sense and were no longer afraid of Harry Potter, why not with a wave of his wand take them and Luna and Naomi on a trip to Mr Olivander's wand shop in Diagon Alley and ..................

let them play with their own wands. In a flash of his own wand, wizard, naomi, luna, mani and theland had all alighted in Olivanders shop. Within the space of ten minutes all had chosen their own wands.
Wizard (being an experianced wand handler) began to show the others how they worked. In order to get to grips with the different types of wand they all had a go of each others.Naomi had a good long feel of Luna's magic stick and was amazed at the thickness and the texture of it and she was pleasently surprised when magic emmited from the end of it and hit her in the face. Luna was very happy that naomi had wrought magic from his thick wand and he took great delight in seeing the magic all over her lips, chin and cheeks. Meanwhile Mani was a bit disturbed by his wand as he had never handled one of his own and its firmness unsettled him. Nevertheless he slowley became accustomed to the new sensations and he gradually got the feel of the thing, rubbing his hand up and down the long shaft. The magic in his wand began to work. It sent new sensations into his body and he began to tremble as he felt magical feelings flow through him.He felt as though he was going to erupt.Oh, the pleasure of having his very own wand to play with and he could discharge magic from it anytime he wanted without feeling guilty.
Meanwhile naomi was now having a go of Thelands magical stick and wizards magical stick...both at the same time, one in each hand. Naomis knees buckled at the force of magic coming from two wands and she broke out in a sweat.She was very wet now (with sweat) when Theland...

said "Wizard, stop, stop. You got quite carried away there for a moment (you dirty devil! And that's from me!), but you have to remember that we know nothing of such powerful weapons." The Great Wizard, looking rather abashed, had to admit he had been rather over-excited, and grasping his wand firmly, tucked it away under his cloak ready to whip out again in an instant should the need arise. After all, he thought, the group needed to keep their wits about them as it was highly likely they may well meet some very odd people in Diagon Alley. Just as this thought crossed his mind who should appear but........................

the A.B. editor. Naomi wiped the magic from her face and wizard tucked his wand away. Mani (reluctantly) put his away too.Luna managed to sneak off undetected with his wand, no doubt to perfect his wand rub.
However all this exitment at discovering the magic inherant in wands had left the group all a bit breathless. The A.B editor...

said "You may be a great wizard, Wizard, but my power is greater than yours, so watch it otherwise I'll zap you". At that the Great Wizard, with wand safely tucked away, decided that with only 20-something posts to go before the subject was ditched, the group ought to think about the original purpose of their mission - to find a Thought for the Day. Many subjects had arisen over the past week, and lives had been transformed, so would it be ................

expediant to ditch this thread now (especially as Theland has no interest in it) or carry on and let wizard loose with his wand again?
OR.... find a thought for the day?

If God could make a rock so big, that he himself could not lift it, would he still be omnipotent?
