Who decides when we celebrate Easter?

Easter is in March this year, last year it was April... who decides?
Christmas is always the same day, so why can't we have Easter at around the same time each year?

Religion for the rich, don't bother if you are poor.

Easter Sunday is determined as the first Sunday after the first Full Moon following the Vernal (Spring) Equinox (21 March). That said, it is based on an ecclesiastical lunar cycle rather than an astronomical one !

I always wondered that too. Knew it was something to do with the moon and now I know the specifics, cheers hj.

Why then, does Mothering Sunday have to be three weeks before Easter and not on the same (ie last/first Sunday of March) each year? Is there a reason for these events to be related?
