Has anyone else watched theses programmes about the Prophecy's,End of Mayan Calender,Merlin etc etc..about the world ending on the above date...I mean im pretty sensible,although very intriguing,but i can see how it would scare the s h ite out of some folk... Any Views?

Pity it couldn't end before the Olympics! Seriously, no I can't see how it could be true. The thing is the world could end at any time if we had a major volcano eruption, massive meteor hit etc. but i don't think anyone can predict that far ahead. And if it's going to end anyway what's the point of worrying about it?

I take all these so called prophecy's with a pinch of salt, how many times have we heard that the world is going to end on such and such a date and nothing happens, well except for all those nutters taking to the hills with their tents and camping stoves lol.

If the day comes and goes without incidence, we'll all just go 'pfff, those nutters eh'.

If conversely it arrives and we all disappear up a black hole, then all we would hear is 'pff' as we are all sucked into oblivion.

Either way, might as well enjoy the next few years.....and beyond???

There is a same question under Society and culture section as well. Of course end of the world is imminent. However there are no exact indications when it might happen. There are few signs given near to that. Have a look here for more interesting insights.

People've been saying this sort of thing for years, keyplus. Even if a nuclear bomb wiped us all out, there are still people who'd survive, deep in their shelters. The end of the world as we KNOW it, perhaps, but not the end of all mankind.
