Is anyone else watching the nightly Todd Bently Florida Outpouring programes on God TV? They've been going on for about 63 days so far. Absolutely awesome.

I'm sure there is an amazing amount of outpouring, but I've not seen it.
Is he genuine?
More reading for his fans here.

Thanks Theland1, I'll check those out later when I have more time.

I'm positve he is genuine - no one could sustain something like this for so long if they were fake. And the miracles speak for themselves.

Even if he were fake, the hunger of the people isn't, and God will respond to that - and is doing!
Jim Bakker, Jimmy Swaggart, Ted Haggard and so many more

What is it they say about a fool and hios money?

Question Author
I very much doubt that the hundreds of people who have received healing, and the 18 resurrections from the dead so far (indepently verified) look upon themselves as being fools! I expect they consider themselves extremely blessed.

As for them parting with their money, if this meeting is like other Christian meetings, there will be no charge to get in, although there may well be a collection, and of course there will have been expenses incurred in travelling to the venue. But I bet each and every one of them consider the "cost" worth it.
Evidence for 'independantly verified raisings from the dead' please..?

It seems somewhat remarkable that this hasn't made it onto a single credible news outlet.

You wouldn't like it Wiz, they have to lay hands on the affected parts!
Not sure about this. I have read a bit about Todd Bentley and there seems to be a lot of money being raked in. Some of the theology is slightly dodgy too. Derren Brown and David Blaine have performed similar "miracles" and just because Todd Bentley is performing all this "in the name of Jesus" I wonder how much of the glory goes to God, and how much goes to him? When Christian "superstars" rise up, I always get a bit suspicious. When the emphasis is on "miracles" and not on life skills teaching I remain wary. I might be wrong and I might be pouring cold water on something real and genuine, but when the man professes to be able to summon up an angel called Emma to give him as much money as he wants - I have huge concerns.

Your answers have had me searching the internet. (Except for Wizard's which just made me laugh!) Virtually everything is debunking Todd Bentley. It makes very interesting reading. I've seen a lot of the programmes and I've never heard him referring to his angel called "Emma", but I've just been reading about it. I also haven't heard him talking about the Third Heaven, and other things the articles says he talks about. The programmes are not being shown live - they are a day late on God TV, which makes me wonder if they are editing stuff out.

Waldo, I've been trying to find the independent evidence - they had announced that every case is being verified and is on American news websites, but I haven't been able to find anything.

Sigh. How depressing.
An explosion of magic to be expected then?
I'm sorry snail rancher I was going to make fun of this again but it sounds as if you so much want to believe it's true.

Don't you think that if he was truely raising people from the dead the world media would be ablaze?

I'm afraid your going to feel so let down on this guy.

In the meantime keep a tight hold of your wallet!
As Jake says, watch the calls for money.
I'm 99% certain that at some point he will quote Malachi 3 to get you to part with your hard earned. They always do.
If he can truly raise the dead, he could have a great career in football management .......

Thanks all of you; and don't worry - I haven't parted with a single penny. I always get skeptical when they ask for money all the time - actually that's one of the reasons I left my last Church.

I do want to believe it's true - but not because I believe in Todd Bentley - I'm actually very wary of preachers who point to themselves rather than God. If there are healings and resurrections, then it is God who would be doing them and the glory should only be going to Him.

I got excited because I saw thousands of people who appeared to be hungry for God and I don't see a lot of that in my day-to-day life.

And yes, I do feel let down - and gullible!! Fortunately for me though, God knows my heart and He knows I'm only looking for more of Him.
Your interest and hunger is exciting. Ive been to Lakeland to the meetings and they are not aired on GODTV the next night, theyre aired live. We had friends watching us the nights we were there. Its sad that people who have never been, or watched for that matter, can pass judgment on the meetings and Todd based on Jimmy Swaggert, Jim Baker, etc
I also had a friend that went on a separate occasion. She had a stroke a couple of years ago. She was unable to walk without a cane for quite some time and had progressively gotten worse to where she had to spend much of her time in a wheelchair. She had lost much use of the right side of her body. She did not let us know her and her husband was going and I guess it was just a last minute decision to go. I was watching on line and saw her and her husband. She was walking fine without the cane and she had use of the right side of her body. She is back home and is still doing great. It is such a testament to those who knew her before. A lot of people she knew had reserves about the meetings and especially Todd, I mean look at him (lol). Now those that knew her before know that God is at work in those meetings.
Another friend was healed of stomach cancer when he went. Ive included the interview Geraldo done on Todd. On the last of it the sound goes out. Anyway, keep believing in God and if you have reserves about the meetings and Todd because of money, ask God to show himself to you in those meetings while you are watching if He is truly there.
Oh yeah, Wiz good luck with that resurrection of the dead thing (lol). It can happen.
