Do you forgive people really easily? no matter how many times theyve hurt you? u just keep giving them chance after chance? if so why do u do it? is it cos youre just too soft ?? and let that person walk all over you?

Or are you are you the total opposiste ?

i dont normally forgive people that easily, i may stil talk to that person, but i would never be a proper friend with them, if they want to talk to me, then i talk back, else i wouldnt even talk at all.

i would say, if u intended to hurt someone then you were never sorry in the first place. then why apologies if u dont mean it? if you loved that person... then you wouldnt have done something which u already knew the end result. im not talking aboout Relationships im on about Friends and Families aswell... maybe im just stubborn??

to quote George W Bush (not something I do often) 'Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me.' I don't personally give anyone a third chance (though everyone gets a second one); life's too short.

Good for you Jno, i like your attitude, quite a good quote by George W Bush.... for once?? lol

i would prob give one chance, but most of the time no chance at all until they apologise first... (thats if they r inthe wrong). lol
i think it depends on how many time a person hurts you.i dont see my mum cos she caused me a lot of hurt and im kept forgiving and tryna start again but in the end as the phrase goes:theres only so many times you can be kicked before you stop getting back up or words to that effect.if someone keeps hurting you i dont think its worth forgiving just to be hurt all over again but i guess it depends on the situation as something minor for one person may be unforgivable for another
I forgive after an apology & explanation. Else I turn away & leave for good.
depends what it is. I;m not one of those people that fall out with mates about nonsense things and when someone hurts me thats it, gone and never coming back
I had a friend that constantly picked me up on minor things, like not phoning or something I said last month etc etc. I really did put up with it, apologised where I thought it was necessary and argued my point when I thought he was in the wrong.

In the last episode he sent me about 23 emails detailing what I had done wrong, fawning the pretence that he was upset about what I had (or hadnt) done and that he has known me x number of years and I should respect that etc etc, dragging other friends into the mire. Never phoned or answered my calls to talk about it. Some may recall a thread I had about a year ago. Same guy. My wife was exasperated at some of the things he was saying (I needed a sanity check and sounding board to confirm whether it was actually me being the petty plonker).

Unlike me at all, but I just got to the point where I realised he wasnt really a friend worth having and I told him to apologise or sling his hook. Havent heard from him in 2 months now. No real loss. It was so petty that I was disbelieving it could escalate so much animosity and realised that he had used situations and other friends to prey on my sensitivities.

I am very forgiving, but we all have a tether of which we finally reach the end. I am a true Virgo, very patient and forgiving, but once you cross that bridge, that bridge is burnt for good.
Same here Octavius - but I'm a Leo!
Octavius why are you not answering my e-mails anymore?
I don't forgive easily. My parents put me in foster care and moved away, I'll never know where they are and my head was messed up for ages. It has taken 8 years for me to forgive them. I have forgiven them in my heart for my own good as carrying around so much hate and hurt was doing me no good. I know I have forgiven them but they'll never know that and I hope they feel guilty for their actions for the rest of their lives. Although I've forgiven them I would never give them a second chance with me again
