If the CofE was disestablished, who would be head of the Church?

If disestablished, the Queen would no longer be head of the Church, so who WOULD be? Would the General Synod elect one of the Archbishops as Supreme Pontiff, or might they elect a Moderator (like the Church of Scotland)?

George Pitcher, writing in yesterday's Daily Telegraph, points out that the resignation of Dr Nazir-Ali from the See of Rochester has removed, for the moment, the threat of "a new biblical hegemony that would isolate homosexual bishops and build a new Communion out of Africa"
C of E, first put your own house in order!

Yes the churches will or might divide, but Romes' umbrella under the banner of "Peace" has room for everybody.
John Paul 2's first conference at Assisi confirmed this, and these are just the first tentative steps towards the ultimate goal.
The Archbishop of Canterbury should be proclaiming Jesus Christ is Lord, rather than banging on about climate change and the recession. Yes, these are big problems, but the biggest problem is the widespread rejection of God and His plan for our salvation, found only in His Son.
Only the fundamentalist churches that follow New Testament teaching are preaching Christ crucified, Christ risen, Christ lives!
Any departure from this message is a deception, and Rome is at the forefront of it.

Christians are accused of believing in God who is His own cause and effect, from eternity to eternity, nobody created Him. That God is unique and a one off is unacceptable.
Yet the evolutionists claim that abiogenesis was a one off, never to be repeated, and all subsequent life forms are the result of biogenesis.
So?
Also, the accepted answer for the beginning of the universe is simply, "We don't know," and this is acceptable in science, yet the very logic that drives the scientific method, must also demand a cause for such a substantial effect. Yes?

Evolutionists don't insist abiogenesis was a one off. It may have occured muliple times. It may not have happened at all. Panspermia may be the cause. It may be something else we haven't yet discovered. WE DON'T KNOW. That doesn't mean we will never know, it doesn't mean abiogenesis is pure guess work based on zero evidence, but it does mean that no one, including every religious whackaloon alive, knows.
I don't understand why you can't comprehend that sometimes the answer is 'We don't know'. What's so hard with that idea..?
At the very least it's got to be better than, "We don't know, so, er, we can just say God did it and no one can prove us wrong."
Again, with the origin of the universe, the answer is WE DON'T KNOW. That does not mean the Big Bang is a random fiction plucked from the ether, it does not mean that God must have done it and it does not mean that anyone is satisfied with not knowing.
Any chance you might actually manage to successfully report a scientific position just once without getting it hopelessly wrong?
Your misrepresentation is the equivalent of me claiming "It's like the bit in the bible where Jesus kills the dragon with his laser pistol and then sh@gs the triple-breasted ***** of Eroticon Six" and continuing to insist on my version being accurate despite being repeatedly corrected.

Waldo, it's good to be back, even if not for too long.
Let's face it, we at least proide entertainment on here, even if I'm still waiting for my first convert.
But, one man reaps what another sows, so maybe the seeds planted are still growing.
That's enough of being nice for one day thank you very much, I was beginning to go all gooey!

Naomis thread about Sam Harris on 16th February, culminated in Mibs giving me another lengthy lecture on how I av deserted my own ntegrty and rationale to follow a mythical god.
God ole Mibs doesn't pull his punches does he, bless im.
However Mibs, if you read this, just a point or two.
Your admiration for humankind paving over the smelly swamps of uncivilised mud leaves me perplexed.
From my vantage point, the paving is rather cracked, and what grows through it is knife crime, all crime, wars and threats of wars, selfishness on a personal and corporate scale, and a pigsty of immorality and drugs, and that's just for starters.
True, the odd paving stone is gold plated, but the glare from he gold does not for one moment blind me to the very sorry state of the earth and all who sail in her.
I've been wanting to get that out of my system for weeks!
There! Dunnit.
Still friends?

Theland, I love you dearly, but your talk of swamps of uncivilised mud, etc, presumably created, in your mind, by the absence of your version of Christianity throughout the world, really has to be the greatest nonsense. You, as a supposedly loving Christian, openly and often vehemently despise and demonise whole groups of society far more than most atheists would ever do. Mibs is right. You have relinquished your intellect, and you do compromise your integrity for the sake of a mythical God. Peace and harmony will never be realised in this world while people are devoid of humanity and understanding towards their fellow man - and people of religion - and by that I mean the Abrahamic religions - are often the greatest offenders. If you want examples of mans inhumanity to man, then look to religion. Youre all right - and everyone else is wrong - and all for the sake of a manufactured deity. What a sad world you people create.
Dont hold you breath Gormless. I dont know Waldo personally, but I think I can say, with some degree of confidence, that your hope is futile. Waldo has more sense.
