I've just met a lovely lady who is a regular church goer and an active member of the Salvation Army. And i'm an atheist, we are both quite liberal in our views and things are going well. But has anyone else had a similar experience? Having had very little to do with any religion for 25 years, has anyone experienced a similar situation? I'd hate it if our relationship interfered with all the good work she does with the Salvation Army.

Just see what happens, why worry about things that haven't happened yet?
Does she have to be religious to work in the Salvation Army? Wouldn't have thought so but that is beside the point.

If you are worried about religion or atheism getting in the way then bring it up and see if it does, I wouldn't have thought it would do and if it doesn't but you are worried it might do in future then the only way to find if it will or not is to stick it out and see.
I went out with a lovely girl who was a devoted Catholic, church 3/4 times a week, twice on Sunday, in the choir etc.

She never tried to get me to be like her and she was great in bed.
So long as you continue to respect her beliefs and her time taken up to help, there shouldn't be a problem.

Thanks for the answers and sorry for the delay in replying. It's all going well and our mutual respect for each others opinions seems to be the right way of doing things.

If only every belief/non belief system could get on this well. ;-)
My wife believes is hooked on most things spiritual. I am an Atheist and Skeptic.

We never criticise and only discuss in the abstract. I wouldn't dream of attacking her and she never tries to convince me.

We have been married 28 years so it seems to work.
