I read it a few years ago. It was interesting. Why 'make' anything of it? If ypure not a believer and it makes no impression on you then theres nothing to make of it. If you are a believer then you are reading a pretty good story about a broken father who meets God. If you have a problem with God being depicted as a black woman - why? God is non-human and genderless. Biblically we know he has appeared at different times as smoke, fire, a dove, a burning bush, a cloud, a whirlwing, sound, brilliant light, a jewish man (who was most likly fark skinned). So i dont see a problem with 'The Shack'. Its a very nice little allegorical tale.
