Be aware the jokers on this number won't take no for an answer. I have been called 5 times in the last 24 hours, even at 18:00 on a Sunday evening.

Before anyone says anything, the TPS is completely useless. This is tantamount to stalking, and its about time something was done.

Treat yourself to a BT8500 telephone. I have and am exceptionally pleased with the purchase, you do have to have caller display though. Agree TPS is useless as there are too many loopholes?

google the CPR V202call blocker, i'm thinking of getting one,looks like a good gadget, i've watched the videos on QVC website think its around £40. The only thing that has put me off getting one years ago is the usual witheld numbers e.g doctors,hospital etc.

But that is the problem. Lots of genuine callers withhold their numbers.

For 2 years now, I have left my home phone "off the hook" as these nuisance calls have making my life a misery. Its now been "on the hook" for the last 2 weeks, since I had Broadband problems, and already these type of calls are mounting up. I can get 6-7 calls every day !

This is a modern plague.

Get yourself a air horn, or loud whistle, treat them to a blast. A good invention would be a device that made a painful noise down the line at the press of a button, but was not deafening from your end of the phone. I'm sure some technologically minded individual could create such a device.

Danny....my Iphone does but not my home phone. But its not just this number that is plaguing me. If a number is withheld, its not possible to block t. Anyway, there are millions of these nuisance callers out there, and they will just use another number to call. Some of them are from abroad, but most seem to be from here in the UK.

If the TPS would pull its finger out, we might be getting somewhere, but so far they have shown themselves to be a complete waste of time.

If I get one of these calls I put it on speaker phone and leave the line open without answering.Apart from listening to the caller's frustration they usually do not call again.Worth a try.

I don't answer the phone unless I recognise the caller. If it's a genuine caller they usually leave a message, then I call them. I find "marketers" and "spammers" never leave a message.

1ozzy....the difficulty is that you still have the calls disturbing your day. But I am going to use my answer phone to filter out these calls. As you say, genuine callers should leave a message, and a spammer never has yet !

Our home phone now goes automatically to answer machine asking the caller to call our mobiles if they want to talk to us, of course only our friends have our mobile numbers
