Caught this report earlier. Probably worth reading if you are using an Android smartphone.

I just hope my AV scanner is up to spotting & preventing such things. Don't receive MMS but with spam SMS I guess we're all vulnerable.

Looking at the article geezer you have to accept the message or accept the install. I think if you are aware of the scam you should be able to thwart it. Just a matter of being vigilant. Or change your language settings to Russian.
