Asian man called from 0203890010760. Gave me a reference number and told me to ring 02032862823 to claim my money. Sounds so easy ;-).

these scammers are getting tight, it used to be at least 8 million ...
If you ring it you are asked to transfer money to India to release the funds! 100% scam !!!!
Since when has the UK government operated out of India?
This is actually more common than what I thought, actually if you look at the hashtags section on https://scam-numbers.co.uk/ you will be amazed on how creative these crooks can be. Just had this call about 20 minutes ago from a spoofed number, it was a "tax refund" of 2.5 grand from HMRC, and they wanted my card details so they can transfer the money - yeah right! It's a crazy world out there!
