I am a Virgin Mobile customer and have received an email seemingly from Virgin Media with an attachment containing ' M004 Periodic Statement etc'. The claimed purpose is to keep me updated with any changes to the account etc.

I am wary of opening the attachment. Any suggestions ?

Please ensure that the mail is coming from the mail address such as xxx@virginmedia.com. However scammers/hackers can use exact domains nowadays.

To whom or what is the e-mail addressed?

Is the email addressed to you personally??
If it's addressed, "dear account holder", I'd be very wary.

The message is from ' youraccount@virginmediateam.co.uk' and opens with, ' Hello'.
