Had a recorded call this morning from he "Inland Revenue" informing me that if I, or my solicitor, did not call back the number then the next step would be a court appearance. What next?

For a start, it would not have been from the Inland Revenue. If you can be bothered, retrieve the phone number and google it (won't work of course if it was number withheld) - you'll soon see that it was a scam to be ignored.

from supposedly BT, about my internet, its a pain
i know.

If they referred to "Inland Revenue" it is an obvious scam. Now known as Revenue and Customs

Ignore it, or if you feel so inclined report it. I had something very similar. HMRC do not contact people by any other means than the good old fashioned postman. Dont worry about this, it's a big, fat scam.

I had one from Ofcom saying that my router would be switched off in the next 24 as they had detected hacking on the line....

Haven't had the Indian sub con Windows one for a while - my tirade suggesting they come around and clean my 56 windows for £3 an hour plus a pulled pork bread roll and a pint of cider at lunch time seemed to do the trick.
