Do you have a MS payments account? Have you looked at the email header to see where it came from?
sounds like a scam to me, lots of numbers starting 844 are scams. Have you tried logging in to your account?

I don't have an account ,that's why I am sure it is a scam.
Type the full number into Google and see what comes up. The fact that it's a premium rate number would put me off calling it. Is your MS account locked?

Number doesn't come up on that link.
That email clearly was being sent out to people all over the world (probably with those in the USA actually being targeted), as there are no UK phone numbers beginning with an 8.

With the exception of the 999 emergency number and various 'official' services (such as 111, 112, 119, etc), all UK phone numbers begin with a 0. So nobody in the UK is likely to get caught out by the scam, as all they'll get when they try that number is an 'unobtainable' message or tone.
