I'm A Total Idiot
My stupid fingers slipped as I was trying to delete what I was sure was a scam email about BT. I have a horrid feeling I've activated the scam, but I can't find the email anywhere - noyt in the inbox, not in trash, not in scam. How can I check and minimise the damage, please?

I tried cintacting BT, by chat (useless- just a bot) and phone (none of the options bore any relation to what I needed). Then tried the bank, who were much more helpful; told me not to worry as I hadn't given out a password or a card number, they will keep a eye out for any suspicious transactions. The email isn't anywhere in the system that I can see - have checked inbox, sent, drafts, spam and trash. I suddenly thought that I could find it on my phone, which is synced to the laptop; as soon as I logged on I saw the email disappear.
What could the scammers do? I guess it would be a good idea not to make any online purchases for a while?

Unless you clicked on a link in the email, I doubt very much you have anything to worry about.

well I was told a nice surprise (it wasn't to her but to me). Had a lady trying to help me out last week re Santander and I told her I did try chatting to a bot - ach - just ask for a human will come on and you know what - I got humans when I asked for them on a few other sites- the lady told me the bots are those WORKING FROM HOME
