After the sackings of the West Ham & Chelsea managers it does appear that the corridor of uncertainty is no longer the preserve of the bowler in cricket.Agree ?

I thought it was the passage of time.
I think it go's with the job. I can't remember who said it but "the only thing certain about a football manager is he will be sacked" although there are two obvious exceptions to this, it is in the main true.

I don't blame West Ham and am a bit baffled by Chelsea, both of these sackings were poorly timed and totaly lacked class.
It said on Radio 4 this morning that Ancoletti was sacked in the corrider at Everton.
How tacky is that?
I can understand why Fergie is still there but Wenger must have some dirt on his boss.............
I know they earn "loadsa money" but it's a disgrace. Ancelotti, Grant (with Chelsea AND West Ham), Hodgson (who's done wonders at Fulham and West Brom as well as abroad), Hughes at Man City, to name a few. And they've all behaved with great dignity. Ferguson should have been sacked years ago (dreadful at first) but they stuck with him and........
Craft - I think your being a bit unfair on Wenger (did I really say that)
If you think that Ric then I sincerely apologise...............
Craft - i agre with you about wenger - and know a few Arsenal fans who do too.

It appears to be worse since football seems to have become more of a business than a sport.
These men are in charge of the assets of multi millon pound companies, they are responsible for the purchases and the sales. Thier failure costs millions.

Roy Hodgeson is a case in point when it suited him he left Fulham to go to Liverpool, he failed he got the sack.

Chelsea is all about the Champions league
You could say sack Wenger, but who is there who will do a better job? Why not sack some of the useless lumps that get paid to run around the pitch.

I do not for one second begin to understand why Ancelotti got the boot. Something else going on there.
Ancelotti won the double last year and gets the sack after a trophyless season........Wenger wins nothing for 6 years and yet is still in the Arsenal hotseat

It's easy to blame the players for Arsenals failures but Wenger is the one who signed them, Their central defence used to be top class when Adams, Bould and Keown played, since then they've had second rate central defenders like Senderos, Cygan, Silvestre, Squillaci, Koscielny, Djourou

Wenger seems bombproof, as Craft has suggested there is probably more to it than meets the eye
I agree with JL

If Arsenal could stiffen up central defence they would have a much greater chance of success. Wenger seems to want to be Barcelona without the development facilities or money to achieve it. He needs to be a bit more pragmatic.
Agree about Arsenals defence. It's their biggest downfall. Wenger could do with spending a few quid in the right places too.

Here's a though, maybe Ancelotti could step in at the Emirates for a while. Wenger can have a sebatical or something.

I'm an Arsenal fan by the way, just in case that hadn't come accross.

Well at least the two men who were sacked add a lot more dignity about them than the 2 rather petulent brats from Utd & Arsenal
Although their pay off package is probably more than some people will earn in their entire lifetimes.
Wenger does a brilliant job at Arsenal.
He needs to go ahead, to go out and spend big.
lol Mick..........I hope Wenger stays at Arsenal.
Perhaps you are forgetting wengers invincibles
And though I hate to say it they were
They have always been there or there abouts
Second only to the mighty manchester
Yes,Treat like dirt, with a Multi Million Pound Pay off.
My OH is an Arsenal fan, their manager can do no wrong.

In a way it's a pity the game has grown into this multi million sport, the managers and players are treated like cattle, some managers aren't given a chance to prove they can do the job.

My personal dislike is Alec Ferguson and his boys
