Are the F.A. living in the past?
18 Answers
If ever anyone showed they are living in the past, it's the F.A. The game needs a radical overhaul but the FA don't want to expose anyone to mistakes, including themselves. There is the attitude that they know best and will not be told otherwise. Massive changes should be made to improve the game all round, one of which is that the rules should be changed to 10 men per team. This would make for better, open games and is workable because now 3 subs are allowed and could be changed to 4 or 5. But of course no-one will go for that because it's too radical. The FA know best don't they. FIFA should bring in this rule in the interests of the game. I have other suggestions but we don't want to upset anyone at the FA do we?

Flair players are protected and the best teams tend to be the most positive and entertaining. The premiership attracts a huge global audience precisely because of its attacking nature. In fact the most boring games tend to be the ones in which a side is reduced to ten men.

In this football Utopia of which you dream I would alter the substitutions rules.
At the moment it is 3 per match for each side. I would allocate the amount for the season at the start and allow them to be used as and when the coaches choose.
Obviously, when they are gone they are gone. This would probably lead to a reduction in the number of 89th minute 3rd changes as there would now be the possibility of a 'cost' in a later match when the extra one might have been useful.

Lets see what do I agree with. As someone who has a season ticket to two clubs and is not interested in the TV coverage
10 men teams - no
Time outs - no
Timekeeper - no I want to know when I'm leaving the ground not enable someone to sit for longer on their TV
After game decisions - no when I leave I want to know a result when I leave.
Most people disagree with these, because the game is the game and has been for over one hundred years. Prior to Sky using technology everyone had a certain respect for referees, Sky destroyed that no one else.
I suggest that you go and watch American sports which seem to cater to you perfectly and leave football to those who love it.

W have had enough tinkering with the Rules of the Game, not so long ago someone at FIFA suggested we have the Goals widened to encourage more Goal scoring !! duh
Stick to 11 Players as it always has been, but sort out the Off Side rules and the diving and shirt pulling in the Penalty area.
Bring in Goal-line Technology as well

I'd prefer rules governing restrictions on numbers of foreign players, and limits on the amount teams can spend in any one season depending on the league they are in... evening out the playing field a little for the teams who don't have billionaire owners... I'd probably bring in appeal technology but like cricket and tennis restrict the number of times the video evidence can be used each match maybe 3 times at the captains request
