Manchester derby - worth watching?

I think that I'm going to go down to the pub to watch this evening's game; first time in a couple of years that I will have done that.

Any reasons why it won't be a good game? Both teams tend to attack rather than defend, and it could be decisive as to where the title goes.

My forecast is City 4-2 Utd.

>>>Any reasons why it won't be a good game?

Over the years I have seen Sky scream about "big games" to come, but some turn out to be a bit of a whimper.

The problem is Man U will probably be happy with a draw, and though Ferguson is generally a manager who like to attack I can see him scared stiff of Aguero, Tevez and the others.

So I think he will pack the defence and midfield and have say Carrick and Jones as defensive midfield players in front of the back four, with Rooney on his own up front.

So it could be 0-0.

However I think that unlikely, and I think the atmosphere alone will make it worth watching.

I can see a Man C win of about 3-1.

p.s. I have a couple of spare transfers left in my Telegraph Fantasy football, but cant decide who to bring in - Rooney, Tevez, Aguero etc.

You can be sure who ever I DONT bring in will get a hat trick.

The way that Utd played against Everton suggests that reliance on their defence might not be the best tactic.
Don't think City will win this one.
It's a must Win match for Man City and if they play to their full potential I can see them winning this one.
It could be a bit fiery with Fergie throwing his usual tantrum.
As a neutral I would like to see City winning it ! :-)

Thanks for the link mickrog; I already have that and other sites bookmarked but there's not much atmosphere when watching games on one's tod.
It's a pub night tonight. The boys want to watch it on the big screen even though we have a 40 inch TV.
I think it will be electric! Make sure you get down there to get a seat in plenty of time bibble ..
I think I might stay home, enjoy the peace and quiet.
ummmm, think you should have posted that in signs of getting old lol.

Laelia - the problem with having a seat in a crowded pub when on one's own is that when you go up to the bar for another pint someone inevitably nips in and takes it
I think I'll do the ironing tonight
It makes no difference if its the worst game of the season. It is an occasion that you have to see.

This is the biggest league game since Liverpool played Arsenal last game of the season.
>>>The way that Utd played against Everton suggests that reliance on their defence might not be the best tactic.

They still have the second best defensive record in the Premier League - 32 goals (after Man C - 27 goals). I think Liverpool are the next best with 37 goals let in with Everton on 38.
That's tue bibble,
you need some props ... a flat cap & a cane .... coat over the back of the chair & leave some beer in your pint while you go & top up with another at the bar :0)
Pub first then home for the match on TV with a couple of mates, they're Man U supporters and I support Man City. Could be an interesting evening.:-)
crowded pubs , that brings back memories . I remember the days when we had to take turns getting to the pub at 6pm to reserve a table or stand up all night , long gone now ! But tonight may be an exception.

standing up all evening counts as exercise that i wouldn't otherwise get
It's not that Tony....I know he only invited me so I could go to the bar. He thinks I'm stupid :-)
