I think the Roy Hodgson effect has worn off.

thinking about it, theres only one man at fault, and thats the chairman, mr j. peace.
Oh hang on.

We are a successful, solvent, English owned Premier League club, who are not in a relegation scrap for the second year running.

He deserves a lot of credit for that.
Without stepping on any toes here... I really rate Steve Clark as a manager and think its a disruption in the dressing room... but maybe now that will settle down.. with a want-away-player showing his intent.

I'm forced to agree with Hopkirks' points but they're true. I'm sure he has a tear for Villa having being bouncin' for far too long.
Who do we 'blame' for the Baggies' fantastic start to this season?

The manager?

Who do we 'blame' for the Baggies' awful run of recent results?

The manager?

So is Steve Clarke good or bad? He cannot be both.
Question Author
time will tell
They are presently 9th in the Premier League which is pretty good in my opinion. Steve Clarke is a good Coach, stick by him.
Get rid of Peter Odemwingie, disrespectful little sod.
redman41 'They are presently 9th in the Premier League which is pretty good'........

......for an over-achieving little team like West Brom

We were third for a short while.
I got a nosebleed.
It's just a case of the season evening itself out.
We had a great start and our recent poor run is just looking worse because of it.
We are in the top 10 still and considering our spending and wage bill is probably in the bottom 3 in the Premier League we are over achieving.
Steve Clarke is doing a good job considering he is given the players to work with and has no say over signings..He's a "Head coach" not a manager.
Our target is always just to survive and we only have 6 points to get.

It would be nice if our Chairman spent some of the money he has made (£18 million profit last season) but he won't...He relies on free transfers, loans and signing from the lower divisions,a tight arse if you will...
When we played Spurs on Sunday our entire squad cost £6 million and the goalkeeper cost £3 million of that!

You get what you pay for and compared to clubs like QPR we ain't doing bad.

Boing Boing!

I understand what you´re saying, but isn´t life about taking the odd risk?, if not for the fans sake. Having said that, the choice is simple, win all your games playing in the championship, or old 2nd division or remain safe in the prem.
It certainly would be nice piggy if Mr Peace showed a hint of spending the clubs wealth instead of keeping it for himself in clever ways.
The Odemwingie farce showed him up as he accepted QPR's £3.5 million bid but then wanted Junior Hoillet from them on loan until he end of the season...Then he asked QPR to pay Hoillets wages!
They rightly told him to get stuffed, remember he'd be getting Odemwingie(our highest paid player) off the wage bill.
Heard a rumour Odemwingie is now being loaned to Crystal Palace,no doubt they'll be paying him not us.
Peace is the weight that holds us down.
