I'd totally forgotten about tonight's game against Bayern Munich - was it as good as the result suggests?

^^^^^ Do you think that Arsenal might fancy a new manager?

Arsenal were good but Bayern Munich played like had already won!!!! They were like there were not really there! I am gutted for Arsenal and wished Wenger chose his team MORE wisely!! X
It was a pretty poor game as a spectacle, in spite of Arsenal coming so close. Bayern never bothered to inject any pace and appeared happy just to turn up for the formalities. But for a bad offside decision, they might have got a third goal, a result which Bayern would have deserved, given their attitude
:-(

that's a shame, it's been quite a few years now since there haven't been any English teams left in the competition at this stage
Poor game, Wegner looked even more distraught than usual. No silverware this year (again) AND ? no Wegner?

you do wonder if a manager like Wenger (or Moyes, for that matter) might fancy a new challenge

Does anyone know what the people who control Arsenal football club want? Are they happy to see it bumbling along as it is so long as they don't have to deal with big money on the transfer market/salary scales?
I think the idea was to keep out of the big money transfers after the Chelsea and Man City takeovers, especially with the expense of the stadium move (a pain that still awaits Liverpool, Everton, Tottenham ...) and with the perception that the transfer market was in any case highly inflated. Careful husbandry and then, when financial fairplay kicked in , bank.
That was the theory anyway. Also worth bearing in mind that one team's "bumbling along" is most other clubs' pipe dream :-)
"bang" not "bank" (quite the opposite!)
I think the two biggest shareholders are barely able to talk to each other (in language or temperament)

I'm a Liverpool supporter and I don't know whether we are finally on the way back up near the top of the table or still bumming around in the nether regions of the Premier League. But my impression of Arsenal is that they just want to keep everything cosy, not upset the applecart. We've all been expecting Chelsea to crash and burn at some stage but it hasn't happened yet; maybe Arsenal need to be a bit more adventurous in their approach to how a top flight club is run these days.
I think you are pretty much right bibblebub. It just depends whether one thinks it's a good thing or not. As for Chelsea, Abramovic is going to be asked soon to hand over his billions to finance the 2018 World Cup, and even he isn't a bottomless pit so that might be worth keeping an eye on ...
