Despite winning the Premiership by a "country mile" and despite all the pundits hailing this Man Utd side as the best for many a year, I think that Sir Alec knows full well that he cannot take this side any further.......it is going nowhere and he felt this was the time to hand over the reins and retire.
The premiership was was not a reflection on the Man Utd supremacy, but of the mediocrity of the teams below.
Moyes is a "safe pair of hands" and if it starts to go down hill, then he would be a suitable scapegoat.
Fairly happy with Moyes but can he wheel and deal in the major money markets?
I can see him bringing 3 or 4 Everton players with him which I'm not sure would be a good fit.
...and probably Jagielka.
Agree with,Sqad in the main, but I think Moyes will do well if he is not SAFs puppet. On the transfer front which player wouldn't be attracted by the name alone and the prestige of playing at OT - I don't think the manager really matters. What will be interesting, though, is can they keep Rooney?
