Man U In Europe?
11 Answers
in the media reports of Man U's home win over Hull last night, mention was made of their recent defeat by Sunderland, which "almost certainly cost them their chance of qualifying for next season's Europa League".
which kinda suggests there's a improbable statistical miracle for qualification lurking somewhere - the kind that England sometimes rely on when looking to progress beyond the group stages of the world cup.
anyone know by what means Man U might still squeak into Europe?

England have three berths for competition, fifth in league plus winners of FA Cup and League Cup. As Man City won League Cup (and will play in Champions League), their place will go to team finishing sixth. So, Man U will qualify if they win their last league match, and Spurs lose theirs............I THINK!!!
Bernie, Hull are definitely in Europe next season, even if they lose FA Cup Final. The FA Cup runners-up automatically take the place of winners if winners have already qualified for Champions League. This isn't the case for League Cup, meaning Sunderland don't have the same reward for being beaten finalists.....once again, I THINK!!!!
// well i for one hope they dont get in jj they will have to play so many matches its not worth it //
I agree but...
The winners of the Europa League now qualify for the Champions League. Also, it would be a good place to blood our young players (like Giggs did on Tuesday) without loaning them out.
Why Nick Powell has played for Wigan all season when United themselves have a rubbish midfield, is a mystery.
