England v Uraquay
Well that's it then 'done and dusted'. England boys off on their holidays early after another abject performance. Despite all the media hype we were rubbish. And Rooney's great goal, it was a tap in for chr**t sake. Pity they didn't wear the English shirt with more passion, but there again with the money they earn they obviously don't give a ***. Pathetic!!!!!

I heard a commentator say, before the match, that England needed to win to have the chance of staying in in their own hands. Is there the tiniest mathematical possibility of staying in, if someone beats someone else by six goals or something like that? Just wondering. I'm not a football fan, but would have liked to have seen them carry on a bit longer.
I thought they were awful, Ludwig. I've only ever watched football when England are playing in the World Cup (about 5 games, then;-)). They were a mess. Only about three players (including goalie) seemed to make any effort.
Really surprised that player was allowed to continue after being knocked out.

I don't think England were brilliant, especially not at the start of the second half, but they lost the game for two reasons: a short second of bad play by Gerrard for the second goal, and at the other end that final touch just not being there. It wasn't like we were thrashed (again, except for at the start of the second half).
