Two unrelated articles in this weeks paper,(!) A Man Utd player starts training after breaking his leg (2)A picture of Leyton Orients snow covered pitch in 1963.My question, there was an Orient player who broke his leg just before that 1963 freeze set in.In those days of little under soil heating or covering of pitches, the Orient pitch was out of commission for so long the Orient player only missed a couple of games.Does any supporter of a certain age know that players name?(was it Ledger Ritson?) Thanks..

so he might well fit the bill.
Hang on, I've just re-read your post and noticed the date! There seems to be a 15-year difference!

Given that LR was born in April 1921, he'd have been 42 at the start of the 1963-64 season, so it's unlikely that he'd have been playing first team football for Orient at that time.

Hi BC I think that I was at that game if so it was a reserve match and because the ground was practically empty you could hear the leg break right around the stadium.
