My daughter's brother in law took his son and a friend to watch Chelsea v West Brom before Xmas. He's a member and he tried to get in the family enclosure, but it was full. He ended up having to pay £70-00/ticket! It cost him nearly £300-00 to watch a game of football....strewth

"Supply and demand."

No. Fools and their money...
if all four had a pie that would be another tenner, and they're the cheapest in the premiership!
The last time I went to watch Newcastle play it cost me 15p. Mind, that was over 40 years ago.
That's how Mr T justifies to me the cost of the Sky package.

He used to got to watch his team every weekend, home or away. Now, he watches the television.
They're not even the most expensive tickets at Chelsea. The dearest cost £87 for non-members, with members getting a fiver off at £82.

It could be worse though. Arsenal charge up to £97 for a ticket, with membership only getting thirty bob off that price, at £95.50.
Thirty bob? Are you in a time capsule?

Sorry for a slight delay in replying. I had to put another shilling in the meter ;-)
It costs a tenner to watch our local team play - and they're only in the Ryman Premier League!
Interesting that slang terms for money were never pluralised; ten pounds but ten quid, ten shillings but ten bob.
It beats me how 'ordinary' people can afford those prices week after week.

I could see a hell of a lot of bands for £300-00. Or, put another £20-00 to it and buy a quality pair of binoculars.
There's your solution then, Melv. Buy the binoculars and become friends with someone who lives in a tall block of flats close to Chelsea's ground ;-)

I might get arrested, chico;-)
Again???

By my calculations the £300 paid for around 8 seconds of Eden Hazard’s (no, I’ve never heard of him either) 90 minutes on the pitch.
Excellent value !!!!
Well worth that money to watch the Baggies lose.
Well, I don't like football (very, very sorry tonyav) but for £300 we have booked a holiday cottage for a week in Scotland this May. Och awa! No contest.
I know what you mean, jourdain. £300 t'is robbery with violence.
