Tackling is now officially banned?
Having seen Diawara get a second yellow for a perfectly good tackle on Ronaldo the other night, I assume this is the end for all proper tackling? The thing that struck me about this one was there was no grey area of "was there contact on the man" etc as everyone saw what happened, including the ref ,and he still thought it was a foul, awarded a laughable penalty and gave him a second yellow, and nobody batted an eyelid.
OK, it was a bit "reckless" but so what? It was necessary to get to the ball as soon as possible at full speed or else Ronaldo would have got there first and dived! Coming just after Sep Blatter casually announced that there is nothing wrong with diving, I think football has had it.
