As I sit here trying to convince myself that it is Saturday morning despite it feeling that it's definitely Sunday, I have vague recollections that in previous tournaments when ITV have shown the first couple of games that England improved as soon as BBC started showing them live.

Can anyone confirm this (even though an improvement in performance is perhaps subjective)?

If true then things will be better on Wednesday.
