Thanks Carlton 23 for redirecting me to this page. Here's my original comment:- I'm not a footie fan and rarely watch it, but I did see England's defeat on TV. Maybe I'm not qualified to comment but it seemed to me that the opposition, Germany, took more long shots up the field towards England's goal and let their players sort it out, whereas England seemed to concentrate more on short play passing around from one individual to another - or at least trying to. Interesting to know what other viewers thought about it.

your wasting yr time, u wont get anybody agreeing with you here, as it seems they are all bitter and twisted now. i think its funny that people have short memories, remember ´66 and the goal that wasn´t but was given, how do you think the germans felt then. what goes round comes round
The subtle difference is that in '66 there is no conclusive proof whether the ball was in or not but yesterday a blind man on a galloping horse could see that the ball was at least a foot over the line

FIFA surely now have to move with the times and introduce video refs like in cricket, rugby, tennis

Not that I think if Lampards goal had counted would we have beaten the Germans, our defence was like a sieve all game, the Germans could have scored far more than 4 and it looked to me like they still had another gear if they'd needed to use it
who is bitter and twisted? I think we all acknowledged that england played like cr@p yesterday.
Agree with Joe nobody on here has posted that we were robbed or anything like it.

Pub side defending did for us not a disallowed goal.
I think what Coldicote is trying to say is that Ze Germans played the long ball, kick and rush system
Just drop the current squad (I was going to use the word Footballers) and start playing under 21s maybe in 2years we may have a chance

What a dis-spirited lot we are! Thanks Elvis yes - that's what I meant, Germany's second goal was a glaring example.
Quite ironic really considering it was only a few days prior to the match that Franz Beckhanbaur was saying England has taken a step back under Capello and had reverted to the long ball game ...
