Kenny Huang is amongst those who has made an offer to buy Liverpool FC. Listening to Radio 5 last evening, he seems to be a very respectable businessman (though the same was probably said of the Americans a few years ago), and he wants to write off the debt as well as build the new ground. And, apparently, there could be "unlimited" money available because he has direct connections with the Chinese government.

But the deal has to done within 2 weeks otherwise he will walk away, partly because he wants to give Hodgson some time (and money for transfers?) before the start of the season. It was said that RBS, who are owed all the money, will effectively act as a 6th member of the board, meaning that the Americans could be outvoted 4-2.

It has to happen doesn't it?

But Man C are still on the up and up.
The owner of man city owns loads of oil wells.
Any time someone mentions ties with the Chinese Government I feel uneasy....It would be great to have them back up at the top... along side Chelsea and the others but not convinced this is something that can be rushed

But the talks have been going on for some time; it's only now that the offer has been made public.
Fingers crossed then.....
Agree with Rowan bibblebub even though she is a Chelsea Fan !! There's still some stormy waters ahead before any Take over takes place. Whoever takes over must be able to fund the building of the new Stadium otherwise they will not be allowed to buy the Club !

If nothing else, this story coming out might result in other bidders putting their heads above the parapets and expedite the departure of the Yanks.
Good point. Such a pity Anfield needs to be replaced its sort of sacred to footie fans the world over... will have to go at least once before it disappears pref not when Chelsea are playing so I can support Liverpool for the day...

And now more good news - Torres has confirmed he's staying.

There has to be disappointment due soon.
The disappointment will be in the form of another mediocre season for Liverpool!
Joeluke ! Everytime there is a posting about Liverpool all you want to do is put the boot in ! Well if you had a brain you would be dangerous
Just stating the obvious redman, don't worry I won't say "I told you so" next May

With Liverpool these days it's simplest not to expect them to do much so that anything more than that is a bonus.
Clear off you immature little boy and come back when you have something constructive to say
Touchy tonight Redman, hit a nerve have I?

Face facts, the 'mighty' reds ain't no longer one of the big four
Foreign owners = trouble.

At some stage Roman Abramovich will lose interest, be bumped off or simply go to meet his maker. Chelsea will then be in do dos.

Portsmouth had fun didn't they?

Man City are not successful yet, and if this continues who knows what Abu Dhabi will do.

There have been some worrying rumours at times for Birmingham City.

The Americans were seen as the saviours of Liverpool, so who knows what will come of a Chinese takeover. They will probably dismantle Anfield and fly it to Beijing like Rover.
Joe Luke who do you support? and how long for....? just curious
