Ive noticed when a player gets a red card in the english premiership some only get a 1 game suspension and others get a 3 game suspension. Like in the Arsenal vs Liverpool game Koscienly got 1 and Joe Cole got 3. Why is that?

depends if it is a straight red ,or two yellow cards equalling one red
