I think it was disgusting that David Blunkett and his guide dog should be refused admission to the opening ceremony of the Paralympics. I hope that the culprits will be reprimanded.
Perhaps he could be given the VIP treatment he deserves at the closing ceremony.

On what grounds was he refused admission?

Did he have a ticket?

(Serious question!)
Former cabinet member David Blunkett was refused his seat at the Paralympics opening ceremony because it was unsuitable for his guide dog
He was redirected to a different seat as it was considered more suitable for him and his dog. He took exception to this and left not wanting to make a fuss.
That's terrible, Mick!

Surely when his ticket was sold/assigned to him, the issue of his dog should have been addressed then.

Thank you for your comments,2sp_, Mick-Talbot and Eccles Cake.
I did not know that he had been offered an alternative seat.
The question of where the disabled audience sits doesn't seem to have been handled very well, there was a story of a woman in a wheelchair who wasn't allowed to sit with her children.
OK.........but could he have seen anything?
He could have soaked in the atmosphere.
was he Minister of Sport for the Olympic underneath the Tone...? No.

I think it was Blunkett thinking he was on a junket and I bet there were more deserving causes that could have been considered, he should be happy to be there in the first place. If you know his history, I could have made a bad pun about him being with a Spectator.
