Been fly (dry) fishing since about age 7 when taught by my father here in the western U.S. I've tried many of the newer carbon fiber rods, but have always returned to my favorite Collier 9 foot, four section Tonkin Cane, split bamboo, made in 1907. Nothing matches the action of the old rod, although it does take alot of care to keep it in top condition. I match it with a Holloway reel, made in 1910 with 3 pound test double tapered line and leader. We tend to tie our own flies here (helps to pass the long winters) but our best all around is the Royal Coachman on a number 8 or 10 hook. The split bamboo is excellent for fishing shallow riffles in late September, where our Rainbow Trout tend to hang out.
Not much help on the Daiwa... but I see their about $200.00 (US) or so this listing on eBay may interest you : http:// www.eba y.com/i tm/EX-D ISPLAY- DAIWA-W ILDERNE SS-XT-F LY-10-8 -3PC-Mo del-No- WXTF100 8-3-FLY -ROD-/3 3082803 9641?pt =UK_Spo rtingGo ods_Fis hingAcc es_RL&a mp;hash =item4d 06e345d 9

I just realised - the 10ft #8 was in the link provided by Clanad.
Nine to ten foot, #7 or #8 should be OK for distance casting and lure work.
I am used to lightweight oufits (#3 or #4) on smallish rivers, but my workhorse rod is a Daiwa (Whisker Kevlar Tournament Osprey River Trout Special - 9', #4), 24 years old and still going strong. Love it !
