To return to Berrington Lough and go Elite. Any speedway fans what are your thoughts?

Hi queenie (Sorry I missed your thread with the Kozza Smith article in. By the time I noticed it, I didn't want to bump it by answering)!

Are they starting from scratch on the original site? I would have thought it would have made more sense to move it a bit closer to one of the two B Roads, for easier access for home and away fans. Have the Bandits got themselves a Sugar Daddy, or just living up to their nicknames (Joke)?

Last Bandits home match I was at was at Shielfield Park! Feeling very old...

I believe they are building a speedway only stadium on the original site of the old ground. I'm not sure if it's a sugar daddy or sheer luck. But it was only a small thing in the newsletter.

Yeah, but they stopped racing there in 1982, didn't they?

They were at Berrington Lough between 1982-1996 - which was a wee bit before my time. That's according to the article I've read online

I used to go regularly in the 1970s. Graham Jones, Steve MacDermott, that era.

It does doesn't it Stephen :) I can't wait to follow this progress. I do however feel unsure about possibly going for Elite League Status though.

My dad knows that era Jeffa sadly wee bit before my time. I was a late bloomer in the Speedway world
