3 races from Happy Haddock (1st leg 2.25) and 2 each apiece from Ascot and Leopardstown(??) make up today's ITV7, which carries the usual Saturday jackpot of £50K.
Couple of stories from the world of racing;
Sad to hear of the passing of Eddie Hide, one of the best jockeys to have come out of the north. As i spent most of the 70s abroad in the army, i can't pretend to have followed his career closely, but i do recall him being the regular pilot on the remarkable Lochnager, and, of course, winning the Derby on the 25/1 outsider Morston. RIP Eddie.
On a much lighter note, a family celebrated riding the first four home in a 9-horse race at Saratoga last weekend - a feat not thought to have previously been achieved anywhere in the world. Kate Davis rode the winner, her brother Dylan followed her home. Husband Trevor McCarthy was 3rd and her sister Jaqueline filled 4th spot.

Saffie has got herself quite a strong book of rides at Ascot, and, while it would be a tad foolish of me to expect her to ride 3 or 4 winners in such competitive races, i have chosen 4 of her rides for my main bet - perhaps she could oblige with a couple of winners and a couple of places;
2.35; Hickory @ 5/1 - 5 places
3.10; Gallant Lion @ 15/2 - 4 places (RF/c with Overactive)
4.20; Prepense @ 4/1 - 4 places
4.55; Dark Trooper @ 7/2 - 4 places
Win singles, 20p Lucky 15, 2 x £1 e.w. accas. 4 placed = total of £28, 4 winners = £2,508.
2.10 Kem; First View @ 9/2 - 5 places
3.00 Hay; Forza Orta @ 9/1 - 5 places
4.10 Hay; JM Jungle @ 4/1 - 4 places
5.15 Hay; Tele Red @ 8/1 - 4 places (RF/c with Pearl eye)
20p Lucky 15, 2 x £1 e.w. accas. 4 placed = £47, 4 winners = £5,637.
ITV7; Above qualifiers plus; Denmark, Tahiyra, Auguste Rodin and Shaquille. I have left the shorties in the £1 e.w. acca because if i had taken them out, it would just be an e.w. Treble:-)
Best of luck, all.

Phew what a scorcher. Going to ignore the doom mongers and be off out to have a wander on the beach and then go for "refreshments". Done the usual with two bets from the runners(except odds on runner) ****E/W Acca, Win Trebles and Doubles. ### E/W Trixie. Good luck and stay cool.

Hopeless again.
I had seen the announcement that Eddie Hide had passed away Ken. Master tactician and true "Cock o' the North". Mick Easterby loved the man. Sad indeed.
Had a little "hope driven" flutter on the Rugby.
First try May England win 11-15pts @60/1.
First try May England win 16-20pts @90/1
First try Marchant England win 11-15pts @105/1
