Best Sports Stadium?
23 Answers
When you first walk into a stadium, and the atmosphere is electric ...
... and you think "Oh, Wow!"
Where is best?
Although I love going to see the Gulls, I can't make any claims for our stadium. To be honest, it's a bit pants.
Having a running track between you and the pitch just kills the atmosphere ... as West Ham will find out.
So ... I'm going to go for Wimbledon Centre Court.
Why? Because it's so much smaller in real life than it looks on the telly. It's small ... but really deep ... so it's like being in a pit. I don't think there's anywhere quite like it.

Hi, JN.
Our new stadium's looking fab, isn't it.
I'm just worried that, because of it's size, we will start getting "crowd control" ... and they will separate all the visiting fans.
One of the jolly things about our home games is that the away supporters come into "our" pub and have a few drinks with us before the game. It will be sad if we start having separate ends.

Welford Road, the home of Leicester Tigers Rugby Club.
Great stadium, very close to the pitch and because it is rugby you never get the segregation of home and away fans so plenty of friendly banter at the match and in the pubs pre/post match.
Other than that it would either be Twickenham or the Millennium stadium.

I'm ashamed at my lack of participation at sporting events...
Millennium Stadium - Rugby League (Millennium Magic weekend - Sunday).
Old Trafford (Lancashire C.C.C.) - Concert (Green Day).
Riverside Ground, Durham - England v New Zealand ODI, 2004 (Not good reading.....)
http://www.espncricin...gine/match/66305.html
Aryesome Park & Riverside Stadium, Middlesbrough. Victoria Park, Hartlepool, Meadow Lane, Nottingham, Fratton Park, Portsmouth & Huish Park, Yeovil - All for Football matches.
I've never seen Wembley Stadium in either of its guises. I could have visited the old Wembley in 1997 - bottled it......
