What a let down. Not a classic, nor the steam-rollering by NZ that we were expecting. NZ made it by the skin of their teeth. The highlights programme later should last all of 15 minutes!

What a display from France. After the rubbish they played earlier, it would have been a travesty if they had won though. Well done, New Zealand.

I started off supporting New Zealand but ended up cheering for France, although I was happy enough for New Zealand.
How often do we write off the French? They have some outstanding footballers and battlers, when they need it. The argument that they didn't deserve to be in the final was always rubbish. Dusautoir deservedly MOTM.
But for one dubious NZ penalty ...

I don't agree the game was a letdown. It was fantastic. If NZ had been leading by 20 and on top with 30 mins to go it would have been no contest and an anticlimax, albeit an expected one.
As it was it was gladiatorial all the way. As it should be.
