Why is the police investigation, combined with the FA investigation taking so long to reach a conclusion?

He was interviewed nearly two weeks ago by Inspector Knacker and the incident itself happened in October.

Yes, the length of time it's taking is perplexing.

Whilst I'm not a fan of JT and never will be from the youTube footage of the incident I must say I find it difficult to believe that he would have used racist language against Ferdinand in light of the fact that Ashley Cole, his own team mate, was stood closer to him than Ferdinand was!

IMHO Ferdinand has misheard whatever it was Terry said and indeed as a result of the youTube footage an investigation was instigated.

True, but what can be causing the lack of an announcement from either the Premier League or the Met.
Do you think they might be hoping it quietly gets forgotten about??
if he is found guilty his position becomes untenable so its a huge decision to make... maybe for once they want to get it right without room for appeals extending the process and publicity further
I maybe wrong but it is my understanding that it wasn't Ferdinand that made the allegations but near by fans or someone else that was near by the alleged incident.

albaqwerty, I think you could be right. What happened with the Evra/Suárez incident? was that resolved.
Arksided,

Suarez charged.

Looks like it won't be the only one after last night either.
Thanks for the link... I didn't see last nights game but just read about it.

If it's true and he starts to get a bad reputation for himself... then he will get picked up on them more and more.
What happened last night, philtaz,I never saw the match.
Suarez gave Fulham fans 'the bird'.

Tanks, philtaz,I like Liverpool FC but this guy would make Bill Shankly and Bob Paisley turn in their graves, with all his play acting and histrionics.

I'm beginning to believe that Terry is probably guilty of the alleged crime, but that the authorities are likely to be arguing about the action that needs to be taken, with the police probably of the opinion that it can prove the allegation, whereas the PL is likely to be looking at the best way of protecting an English international ahead of the 2012 Euro finals.

Whatever, a decision will have to be made in the next 7/10 days.
Ask the Lip Readers...they"ll tell you!
At the end of the day Terry called Ferdinand a derogatory name - no one was assaulted, no one died

Mountain out of a molehill, sticks and stones etc
As Captain of England, you would be expected to maintain a high standard,on and off the field..you cannot go around calling opposition players "Bl*** C***s"
